The residents have urged the authorities to repair the road as it causes a lot of inconvenience to them and devotees visiting the famous shrine. Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), local residents said that despite being an important road, Lawdara–Gundpora via Gamroo village has been neglected as the concerned authorities have failed to maintain this road. They said that the road has not been repaired from the last several years, thereby putting them through a lot of inconvenience. “The road is dotted with potholes, speaking volumes about the tall claims of the government of improving road connectivity. The drainage system on this road is also poorly managed which is the main reason for the dilapidated condition of the road,” said Manzoor Ahmad, a local resident. The locals urged the administration to pay attention to this road because it leads to a famous shrine and hundreds of people come to visit this shrine. They appealed to the district development commissioner, Bandipora to personally intervene into the matter and redress their grievance. Despite repeated attempts, executive engineer R&B division, Bandipora could be contacted for comments. However, an official of the R&B division, Bandipora said that the road will be macadamized soon—(KNO)
